Leah Abraha continues her internship at Museum of Biblical Art (MOBIA) working on the exhibition Angels of Light: Ethiopian Art from the Walters Art Museum. This semester she was involved in planning the opening, organizing workshops, giving tours and moderating a panel discussion (April 28). Leah was also asked to curate a small exhibition of contemporary Ethiopian artists (or artists influenced by Ethiopia) for Tadias Magazine (an Ethiopian lifestyle magazine) as part of the celebration of the Ethiopian millennium in September 2007.

Hannah Boles volunteered to help install the EDM and Ceramics exhibitions of student art in the art department gallery. She found it an invaluable experience and will volunteer again next semester.

Aja Calviti is working with the City Youth Project in Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn. She held the first fashion show for her high school student designers on April 28. Aja started the Fashion Club program with not-for-profit, City Youth Project in December of 2006. Each week, she brings in guest industry speakers. Aja will also be starting a new job as a men's clothing designer in late May.

Gonzalo Casals has been working at El Museo del Barrio as Public Programs Coordinator, a position that serves as liaison to the Education and Curatorial Departments. In addition to developing the museum's public programs and adult education (films series, lectures and symposia, book presentations), Gonzalo is pursuing strategic partnerships in an effort to bring quality programming to El Museo's audience and to help promote the work of contemporary Latino artists in the U.S.. This summer, in partnership with Rooftop Films, El Museo will present CIELO ABIERTO, a series of films and music at El Museo's rooftop; and for the fall, El Museo will co-present with Art: 21 a series of conversations with visual artists of Latin American descent. Gonzalo has also been serving as Member at Large of NYCMER, New York City Museum Educators Roundtable, where he organized professional development panels on issues such as museum programming for seniors and museum professionals and gender. Gonzalo has been elected for a second year to the same position at the organization.

Anna Cannon works part time as a Gallery Associate at the Art Center at Queens College; she is involved with the curatorial and administrative aspects of the gallery operation. She also continues her job cataloging at the Godwin-Ternbach Museum at Queens College.

Sherri Coxson is concluding her spring semester internship in the Education/Adult Public Programs department at the Whitney Museum. She has also been teaching a section of Art 10000 at City College.

Alyssa Grasso recently gave a lecture at the University of New Hampshire (where she got her undergraduate degree), entitled "Wolfgang Laib: Life in Stone, Pollen, and Wax (a "maximalist" approach)."

Victoria Hofmo's thesis (a work in process) will be used as a catalogue entry for an exhibition, The Norwegian War Sailors scheduled for 2008. Her organization, The Scandinavian East Coast Museum (SECM) is looking for a new space for exhibitions and programming. They have a capital grant from Councilman Gentile and hope to sign a six-year lease. On May 19th the SECM hosted their annual Viking Fest in Owl's Head Park at 68th Street and Colonial Road in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. You can check out their website.

Minjung Lee completed her internship at the International Center of Photography in December 2006 and has since obtained a part-time job there as a Collection Assistant.

Kevin Miller is currently an intern at the American Folk Art Museum where he works directly with Brooke Anderson, director of the Contemporary Center and curator of the recent Martin Ramirez exhibition. He is assisting her in curating an exhibition that will focus on the artist Henry Darger and his influence on a generation of figurative artist working today. The Museum is home to the Henry Darger study center, which contains over two dozen works as well as the artist's source materials, studies, writings and letters. They will step outside their current mission for this exhibition by including works by contemporary, "schooled" artists. The show is scheduled to open in April 2008.

Kate Moioli (previously Kate Kelley) will be working as an intern at the Whitney Museum of Art this summer. This semester Kate was teaching assistant to Prof. Hajoe Moderegger in the BFA Senior Thesis Seminar.

Felicity Tsikiwa (BA) was elected vice-chair of the college group at the Metropolitan Museum of Art advisory committee. She also became a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow; Professor Ellen Handy is her mentor.

Stephane Zaborowski is currently an intern at the MoCADA (Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts), where he assists in preparing the upcoming exhibition, entitled "The French Evolution": It tackles the difficult subject of racial dynamics in France, in the light of the 2005 riots.
