SPRING 2007 (read newsletter)

(Preview:) Dates for the Postmodern Classical II exhibition have been finalized. The exhibition will take place in the lobby of the Olympic Tower from April 14 to May 16. The opening is scheduled for Thursday, April 17; please save the date. Students will curate the exhibition and write the catalog during the Fall 2007 semester in a seminar devoted to the project.

FALL 2006 (read newsletter)

(Preview:) The semester concluded with our fourth annual symposium exploring the topic of museums and civic engagement co-sponsored and co-organized by the CCNY and NYU graduate museum studies programs together with the Lower East Side Tenement Museum.

SPRING 2006 (read newsletter)

(Preview:) A group of educators including art historians, critics and artists, all actively teaching and publishing or exhibiting their work were joined by Director Adam Weinberg, Raina Lampkins-Fielder, Associate Director and Chair of Education, and Frank Smigiel, Manager of Adult Public Programs to discuss ways in which upcoming exhibitions might be integrated into our curricula and other ways of using the museum's resources for higher education.

FALL 2005 (read newsletter)

(Preview:) Our alums now include two museum directors: Wesley Jessup (2001), Pasadena Museum of California Art and Teresa Velasquez, Villadolid Museum of Contemporary Art (Spain). In 2001 Debra Willis won the prestigious MacArthur "Genius" Award. She is the author of Reflections in Black: A History of Black Photographers 1840 to the Present.
